Meet Paul SEO
Paul Seo is a husband, father, U.S. Army veteran, and Deputy Attorney General who serves as Mayor of Rancho Palos Verdes. Raised in Torrance by hardworking Korean immigrant parents who owned a local small business, Paul has dedicated his career to protecting our communities and making government work for all of us.
Driven to serve and defend his country, Paul attended the United States Military Academy at West Point and went on to serve as a U.S. Army officer overseas in the demilitarized zone between South Korea and North Korea. After earning his law degree from Loyola Law School, Paul served as a Deputy District Attorney for Los Angeles County where he spent seven years prosecuting murderers, sex offenders, gang members and other violent criminals while taking illegal guns off the streets.

Paul later joined the California Department of Justice as a Deputy Attorney General, where he leads a team to investigate and prosecute political corruption, corporate fraud, and other white-collar crimes along with investigating cold case murders. Paul led the effort to obtain accountability for the 2021 Huntington Beach oil spill, prosecuting the oil company responsible for the spill that devastated our coast.
On the Palos Verdes City Council, Paul has delivered results that have improved the reliability of electricity, improved public safety, strengthened mobile phone reception, and secured funds from the county to support residents impacted by landslides and find solutions to stabilize landslide areas. Paul helped create a Public Safety Division in the City of Rancho Palos Verdes to strengthen emergency preparedness. Paul will strengthen community policing and ensure first responders have the resources they need to keep their communities safe.

Now, Paul is running for State Assembly to crack down on corruption in Sacramento, lower the cost of living, keep communities safe, and make government work for working families. Paul’s campaign is proudly supported by firefighters and first responders, nurses, small business owners, frontline prosecutors, construction workers, and grocery store workers.
Paul and his wife Hannah, a physician, live in Rancho Palos Verdes and are proud parents of two, a eight-year-old son and four-year-old daughter.
